Taiwan has not experienced COVID-19 confirmed cases for the 10th consecutive day. As long as the PREVENTION principle is implemented, entertainment venues can be gradually opened. Taiwan is brave to fight coronavirus, and many industries are about to recover.
Taipei, Taiwan (Merxwire) - Latest news from Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC). According to its statistics, Taiwan has not experienced new COVID-19 cases for the 10th consecutive day on May 17. The current confirmed cases remain at 440 cases, which is also the 35th consecutive day that Taiwan has not experienced domestically transmitted infections. The last occurrence of domestically transmitted infections in Taiwan was on April 12.
Thanks to the hard work and unity of Taiwan's medical staff and all the people, they greeted the fruits of victory for 10 consecutive days on May 17. With the alleviation of coronavirus infections, the relevant restrictions in Taiwan may gradually be opened. Chen Shih-chung, CECC heads and Health Minister stated that if special entertainment venues implement protective measures and can establish channels for quick contact, winehouses, dance halls, clubs and other special entertainment venues can be reopened.
These special entertainment venues must adopt social distancing guidelines, employees and customers need to wear masks, perform temperature checks, and regularly use hand sanitizer. In addition, a system must be established so that companies can contact customers after they leave. "If local governments can ensure that companies implement relevant regulations, then we will reopen these institutions." Chen said .
Checkerboard seating: Each seat needs to maintain a distance, and does not provide continuous seats for customers. By keeping the distance of the seat to maintain the social range, you can avoid the virus infection indoors.
Wearing masks: People in Taiwan can purchase masks dispensed by the government through eMask system, convenience store, pharmacy and other channels. People need to wear masks in places prescribed by the government. In places where the body is uncomfortable or unable to maintain social distance, you can also wear a mask for personal protection.
Provide cleaning supplies: In order to maintain the health of all people, the business premises provide hand sanitizer, 75% alcohol and other supplies for customers to use. Encouraging hand washing, not touching products, and avoiding Taste Test activities, these measures can not only protect consumers, but also protect employees.
According to CECC statistics, since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2019, Taiwan has recorded 440 confirmed cases, of which 349 were classified as imported and 55 were local infections. The other 36 cases are a cluster infection on a Navy vessel that returned April 9 from a Pacific goodwill mission, the Navy vessel case has not been classified as either local or imported.
From the source of the case and the changes in various data, it can be found that Taiwan's restrictive policies and protective measures can effectively combat the spread of coronavirus. CECC also issued a statement. So far, 395 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Taiwan, 7 died, and the remainder are still in hospital.
Globally, COVID-19 has infected 4,660,752 people in 187 countries and regions, including 1,489,642 in the United States, 272,043 in Russia, 240,161 in the United Kingdom, 230,698 in Spain and 224,760 in Italy, with a total of 311,064 fatalities, according to CECC statistics as of Sunday.
